Some days you feel like an athlete.
Some days you just feel like a person trying really hard, and some days, you want to quit.
This week was all 3.
Thursday: 1750 yard swim.
Friday: rest day and baseball.
Saturday: spoke at an International Women's Day event and then turned around and did a 31 mile bike ride.
Sunday: went out for a 10 mile run that turned into a whole lot of walking and a whole lot of self talk - some encouraging, and some that demanded immediate reframing and editing!
I wasn't feeling it today. Not even a little. But I got out of bed, and I went. And for today, that is enough.
230 miles (370km) since January 1st.
With 98 days to our next 70.3 Ironman.
Here is what I know after 20 years of coaching women and training myself:
Progress is not linear and motivation is not reliable.
What works is having a plan, having someone who holds you to it (thank you @kristi_tri427), and making sure your body is foundationally resourced enough to show up.
The swim, the bike, the run, the IWD talk on Saturday - none of it happens without a solid foundation.
Sleep.
Nutrition.
Commitment.
My kickass supplement stack.
Accountability to myself and to a tri coach who has a plan even on the days I want to skip it.
Some days you click. Some days you grind. Both count.
98 days. Let's go.

Saturday was a fun After-Photo Shoot with four of my members who are at (or near) their goals - and local to me!
🌿 𝗥𝗲𝗯𝗲𝗰𝗰𝗮 - down 61 pounds and 79 inches!
🌿 𝗔𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗶 - a total of 80 pounds (40 on her own, and finished the final 40 pounds/59 inches with us)!
🌿 𝗟𝗮𝘂𝗿𝗮 - 22 pounds released!
🌿 𝗔𝗺𝘆 - 19 pounds!
It'll be a couple of weeks before the official, professional photos are ready, but here is a sneak peak - from photos I took on my phone during the shoot!
Weight loss is personal. It’s private. And after 20+ years in this industry, I know most people don’t broadcast what worked for them. Many don’t want to explain why they invested in support… they just quietly do the work and change their lives. And that's absolutely justified, respected and completely o-k!
That’s why I’m so grateful ‐ and honestly, a little in awe ‐ of the women (and men) who choose to step forward and be one of the faces of the program that’s helped so them.

Ever wonder why one mineral works… and another does absolutely nothing?
It’s not the mineral. It’s what it’s attached to. Your body can’t use a “naked” mineral. It only absorbs minerals when they’re paired with something it recognizes, kind of like needing a key to get through a door.
Some minerals are paired with cheap helpers. Some are paired with better ones. And some are paired with the kind your body is really good at pulling in.
Same mineral.Very different results. Here’s the quick breakdown of the three main “partner molecules” you’ll see on labels:
• Acids (salts)
Examples you’ll recognize: oxide, carbonate, citrate, chloride.
These dissolve fast and are inexpensive, but often hard on digestion and poorly absorbed.
• Carbon-based compounds
Examples you’ll see often: gluconate, malate, lactate, picolinate, orotate.
These are gentler and more stable than salts, with moderate absorption.
• Amino acids
Common ones include: glycine, lysine, taurine.
These work with the body’s natural absorption pathways and are usually the easiest to tolerate and use.
BUT - these only work well when the mineral is truly bound to the amino acid. If it’s not, you’re paying for the amino acid in name only - not the benefit it could bring.

Same mineral.Very different results. Here’s the quick breakdown of the three main “partner molecules” you’ll see on labels:
• Acids (salts)
Examples you’ll recognize: oxide, carbonate, citrate, chloride.
These dissolve fast and are inexpensive, but often hard on digestion and poorly absorbed.
• Carbon-based compounds
Examples you’ll see often: gluconate, malate, lactate, picolinate, orotate.
These are gentler and more stable than salts, with moderate absorption.
• Amino acids
Common ones include: glycine, lysine, taurine.
These work with the body’s natural absorption pathways and are usually the easiest to tolerate and use.
BUT - these only work well when the mineral is truly bound to the amino acid. If it’s not, you’re paying for the amino acid in name only - not the benefit it could bring.
